Polyacrylamide PAM

Polyacrylamide is, simply called PAM, a water- soluble high polymer and widely used inpetroleum, paper-making, metallurgical, textile, chemical and environment protection fields. There are three categories of anionic, cationic and non-ionic type.

Anionic PAM

HQ-APAM is high molecular weight flocculant of polyacrylamide type. It is used as clarification and filtration agent of river water, waste water and industrial water. It has wide application is process treatment of mining, metal & ceramics.

TEST PROPERTIES
Ionic Type Anionic
Appearance White
Bulk Density (g/ml) 0.5-0.8
Molecular weight Approx. 15 to 18 million
pH (0.2%)solu. Indistiiled water 6 to 8
Form Powder / Viscous Jelly
Solubility Totally soluble in water
Effective PH Range 3 to 11 (More effective at slightly alkaline)
Flash Point Above 90” C
Hydrolysis 20 to 30% (Approximately)
Dilution HQ-APAM should be diluted 200 to 300 times with water before application

Non-lonic PAM

High molecular Flocculent water treatment chemicals

Cationic PAM

Medium molecular polymer, Flocculant. It is effective medium molecular weight cationic polymer. It is specially designed for faster solid liquid separation in clarification, thickening and dewatering. They work on charge neutralization mechanism by their cationicity in acidic to neutral medium pH.

Physical Propertiess:

Color Transperent white to off white
Solubility Totally Soluble in water
Effective pH Range 2 to 7.5 [more effective in acidic medium of pH]
Dilution Cationic PAM should diluted 200 to 300 times with water [Slow speed stirrer] before application.

Applications:

When use PAM series products, first make up dilute solution, usually 0.01%-0.1%,thus it is easy to mix with treated substance to get the best result. When make up dilute solution, try best to use water that is neutral or doesn’t contain metallic salt. When make up solution, usually the temperature is between 50-60
. When used as paper-making staying-assist agent, density couldn’t be too high, other-wise the paper size will appear flocculation, usually it is between 100-300 PPM. When used as flocculation agent it is necessary to select type and size of PAM series products according to PH value of treated substance. Anionic PAM is suitable for higher density, inorganic suspension substance with positive charge and PH value is neutral of basic solution with thick suspension particles 1mm-10mm. Non-ionic PAM is suitable for separating mixed organic and inorganic suspension, the solution is neutral or acid. Cationic PAM is suitable for suspension solution with negative charge and containing organic substance.
